Thirteen Queens

The Thirteen Queens are high-ranking demons--typically succubi--who form the second-highest rung of power in the demon empire, answering only to the Emperor or Empress.

Queens are appointed by the emperor and are typically drawn from noble families who have the most thralls, which in turn gives the Queens much of their magical power. Occasionally a Queen is appointed from a common family, or may not be a succubus. Queens have no set time limit during which they serve and can serve for only a few days up to multiple centuries and between emperors.
