Humans
Arriving in the realm just over a thousand years ago through magical gates, the human race has struggled to carve out a place for itself amongst the other races, though they have had help from their close ties with their elven and dwarven neighbors. Their cities span the main continent, though they are mostly centered on the two coasts, with hamlets and villages scattered across the countryside. Despite this spread, the race as a whole swears fealty to a single line, that of their ancestors' expedition leader into the new world, Gius Libidine.
The former ruling king, Harold Libidine, known as “Harold the Mad” by the common folk, took power some ten years ago. In that time, he had managed to irritate and alienate his allies so badly that when a war that threatened the entire human population of the continent broke out, both dwarves and elves turned a blind eye to the plight of humanity, with only a few individuals from both races helping the beleaguered remains free humanity to escape.
Now a scattered and desperate people, the remaining humans have taken to the roads their ancestors once walked to find the ancient portal that can return them to their race’s original home. The only other alternative, to give into the demons and become like their former king, a plaything to their cruel and lusty machinations.
The former human capital was named Giusburg, but the city fell shortly after the failed invasion of the human empire.
