The Giusburg Necropolis was built in the years 4723-4727 during the reign of King Chumley the Clever of the Libidine Dynasty. It was built as a ruse to keep people from knowing about the Giusburg Catacombs where the actual deceased kings and queens of the dynasty were kept, so all the bodies buried there were those of random deceased commoners with costume jewelry.

Following the Great Eastern Shake in 5366, the Giusburg Catacombs did become the burial spot of the Libidine king and queens during the Second Libidine Restoration.

During and after the Great Exile, the necropolis was looted thoroughly by bandits of all races, as King Chumley the Clever always expected would happen eventually.
